As part of our new Village Council Playtest process announced today, we are kicking off the “Draft Playtest” phase which has just begun.
This includes our Scriveners and Forerunner Kickstarter backers and anyone who has contributed support at that level on either Ko-Fi or PayPal. The playtest started at 12pm EDT and backers at those levels should keep an eye out on their emails (check junk folders just in case).

Wrong Dates in Playtest Email
We realized that the wrong dates/times went out in the first batch of emails to Scriveners and Forerunners, apologies if this caused confusion. Here’s the actual dates for this ongoing playtest:
The Draft Playtest phase goes from Monday 8/10 – 8/31.
The Preview Playtest phase goes from Monday 8/17 – 8/31.
The Proof Playtest phase goes from Monday 8/24 – 8/31.
Save File Bug
In rare instances, we’ve encountered an issue that can corrupt player’s save files. While we’ve increased the number of save files made for each character, so you shouldn’t lose all of progress, we are asking for the community’s assistance in sending us their save files if they happen to experience this issue. If you log back in and discover your town has been reset and are missing items, please send us both your current save file, and your last save file where your town and items are all intact. Thank you in advance for your help with this!

If you are not in the Village Council and would like to get into any of the playtests for any of the phases coming up as outlined in the article below, then please pre-order Hawthorn here on our website to support our development and to make Hawthorn a better game. Please note that you have to choose a tier that includes a Steam Key in order to get access to these Village Council Draft, Preview, Proof playtests. Any backer that provides support below the cost of the Hawthorn key will get access to the private village council Discord channel. We are still working on getting those codes out to backers on Ko-Fi and PayPal for them to join the Discord Village Council channel.
